Toronto, Canada – Titan1Studios is bolstering its executive team with the hiring of Wes Ambrecht as Head of Studio Partnerships (Film/TV & Gaming).
Splitting time between Los Angeles and New York, Ambrecht will oversee the company’s push into the world of Film and Television by leveraging TITAN1’s library of content from the gaming and publishing space, and broker strategic partnerships to help grow the Toronto and Calgary-based shingle.
Prior to joining TITAN1, Ambrecht served as the VP, Development & Production at Foundation Films where he oversaw a vast slate of Film, TV, and Podcasting content, and spearheaded the TV adaptation of TITAN1’s flagship comic series KNIGHT GUARDIANS OF RELATIVITY by Canadian Showrunner Jon Cooksey (KILLJOYS, SO WEIRD) currently in active development.
“Wes has been an integral part of our transformation into a cross-media studio that now adds TV and Film projects to our slate of Interactive Digital Media, Graphic Novels, and Technology Products,” said Rathan Moorthy, President & CEO of Titan1Studios, “We are thrilled to have him as part of our leadership team as we grow our business in the US and around the world.”
“After working with Rathan and his team and seeing their dedication to bold storytelling across genres, formats and mediums, I’m excited to come in-house and lead the charge into Film and TV” said Ambrecht.
“While the stories of Titan1 span the far reaches of time and space, their themes often hit much closer to home with a key emphasis on family, identity, and building a better tomorrow, which couldn’t be more relevant today. This is a studio that exemplifies representation and inclusion and I’m thrilled to channel that into an array of new projects”
Prior to Foundation, Ambrecht served as Director of Development for both Paper Plane Entertainment and Viewfinder Pictures where he sold and produced projects for CBS, HBO, and Amazon, among others. He got his start working for the Gersh Agency in their Motion Picture Literary department.
Ambrecht holds an MFA in Film/TV Production from UCLA, where he is also a Lecturer, and a BS in Communication from Cornell University.
